The company BMT succeeded to achieve with its spectrum of products at a new significant partner. In these days we successfully handed over for use the large steam sterilizer of the STERIVAP HP line for sterilisation of solutions. LONZA BIOTEC s.r.o. is a part of the Lonza group, one of the largest global suppliers of pharmaceutical industry, health care and bio technologies. In 2011, the turnover of the company reached 2,69 mld. Swiss franks.
LONZA BIOTEC s.r.o. with its registered seat in Kouřim (40 km to the east of Prague) specialises in production of active pharmaceutical substances (API), intermediate products for production of API, food supplements and active parts of cosmetic products.
The company Lonza in Kouřim also operates the research and development centre engaged in transformation of processes into industrial production and their permanent improvement based on innovative, competitive and technically performable solution. At the present time, Lonza employs 384 people and so it is one of the most significant employers in Central Bohemian region. The production process in Lonza Biotec Kouřim is fully automated, it is performed in good manufacturing practice mode (cGMP), via the bio technological process, i.e. with presence of live micro organisms. It has available bio reactors with volume of 15 m3, 50 m3 and 75 m3.
The total volume of all the bio reactors reaches 475 m3.Nearly complete range of production is exported to global markets – to EU countries, Switzerland, USA, Japan. The plant in Kouřim is on highly developed technical level and it is repeatedly certified and registered by many significant Czech and global institutions (company management system in compliance with ISO 9001:2008, Czech State Institute for Drug Control (SÚKL) and American US Food and Drug Administration - FDA) etc. Lonza Biotec obtained inter alia investment incentives for the project of production extension and operation of a new research and development centre established in 2006, where 30 scientists and laboratory technicians are engaged in applied research, development and optimisation of fermentation, isolation and purification processes.
